You are wrong about the swastika, nvm :) Why do people need to know about the history of it? If they want to get it tattooed because they are into evil shit then thats all they need to know...why would they care about its origin? You have an Adidas tshirt on in your pic. Do you know about the history of how their products were made? No i'm guessing not, but you still support them and wear their products, even thought their ethics are rather questionable.. You don't give a shit... why should they
I think you have missed the point. Yes i totally agree with you, but... It is now used just as widely as a its original meaning, within satanism. Just because it's original meaning wasn't anything to do with satanism, doesn't mean it isn't now. Prime example of a symbol being used for different meanings... The swastika... There are hundreds of different takes on this symbol, 99.9% good, but 0.1% bad, and to be honest, it's that 0.1% that most people know about.. yet that doesn't discredit it.
I know it’s a very old symbol but the nazis reversed the direction of the arms to appropriate it for their own usage.
I get what you’re saying and each to their own really I was just making a point that people use symbolism without actually knowing anything about the full history of it, which I think is pretty important.
i'll think you'll find inverted crosses just like sigils crescent moons and inverted pentagrams along with 5 signs of the pentegram all have different meanings it's not only just st. whoever so you're the one that needs to learn
No I’ll think you find I do not need to learn.the inverted cross is strewn around the Vatican as a symbol to St.Peters refusal to be crucified the same way as Jesus!and a tribute to his martyrdom and a celebration of him being the first pope.it was not used as a symbol for anything other than that until long after his death.yes many anti-religious people now associate it with satanism but it’s a holy symbol first and foremost.
The inverted pentagram represents the five points of a goats head which has nothing to do with the original meaning of a pentagram which is the symbol for a chalice(symbolising the womb)and dagger(symbolising the male genitalia)
I am not religious but I know my stuff.
antonyflemming said: I agree with you as I’m sure many people don’t realise this is the original source of the inverted cross. The fact St. Peter didn’t feel worthy to be crucified as Jesus was… But…The inverted cross is widely recognised as a satanic symbol as well.
You make a good point but it’s only recognised as a satanic symbol if the image is a crucifix with Jesus nailed to it, inverted.
The Vatican is strewn with plain inverted crosses due to St.Peter being the first pope.
